Its All About Jesus

Our Vision

Transforming the world with the good news of Jesus.

God transforms people. He does the wooing, He does the saving and He does the changing. He transforms us through encounter. Encountering Him through being set free, through healing, through the washing of His Word, through discipleship, through the renewing of our minds, it is all by His sanctifying Spirit. He transforms our identity, from orphans, estranged from God, to Sons and Daughters adopted into His family.

Our Values

Our Values are our culture, the heart of what people experience, our ‘north star.’ Values define us, and as we define our values, we can focus on how we intend to deliver on them.

1. Presence – We exist to make His Presence known.
2. Passion – God is passionate about you. He loves you with an unceasing passion.
3 Purpose – We are called to share the gospel of Jesus. It is 100% good news.

Our History

In 2008 Gideon and Catherine Hoekendijk felt a stirring for a new expression of church. A small group of likeminded people began to meet weekly around the BBQ over the course of the next year as they started to seek God, dream and pray together.

2009 saw the launch of services in a hired school hall. The following six years saw church growth, conferences and events as well as many new Christians coming to faith.

During 2016 the church started a refurbishment of the current church facility, a former electrical goods warehouse in central Christchurch. This enabled more growth for people, ministries and staff.

The church expanded further in 2019 by developing Te Puna Manawa, a health and wellbeing centre a few doors down the street from the main church building. Te Puna Manawa is a catalyst for continued development of Sozo, Healing Rooms and the Harmony Community Trust.
